Athena Beauty Academy is committed to ensuring all of its students and staff work in a safe and healthy environment, fully supported by safe working practices and adherence to all relevant legislation, best practices and industry regulations. We reserve the right to amend and update our procedures outlined below as deemed necessary in pursuant of this.
All students must behave appropriately. Abuse or anti-social behaviour towards staff or other students will not be tolerated.
Students will be shown and supervised whilst using the equipment. All equipment and materials used are the property of Athena Beauty Academy any theft, wilful damage to, or improper use of equipment will be charged for or in the case of theft, reported for criminal action to be taken.
All students are required to dress in appropriate and comfortable clothing.
Sensible closed toes shoes must be worn
No jewellery to be worn except for wedding band
Hair must be tied back and away from face
No smoking is permitted anywhere within the building
Mobile phones must be switched off in the training room; or left on silent at the sole discretion of the course tutor.
No children or other visitors are allowed on the premises.
Permission must be obtained for any models at least 7 working days prior to the course commencement, and they must only be on site for the duration of designated practical sessions.
If you are pregnant speak to an advisor before booking, as some courses may be unsuitable and refunds may not be given in these circumstances. We do not generally recommend attendance prior to 12 weeks or after 32 weeks gestation.
A signed disclaimer must be signed by you if you choose to attend any course whilst pregnant
You must inform us of any contra-indications or special requirements at the time of booking. If any new issues arise after your booking has been confirmed, you must notify us immediately before/during the course. Refunds will not be awarded but reasonable efforts, as determined by us, will be made to allow you to undertake your course.
Acceptance on our courses includes the requirement for students to work on each other (unless otherwise stated).
If you require us to provide a model, this must be requested and paid for (additional charge) when booking the course. If you intend to bring a model, you must notify us of this at least 5 working days before the course commencement date.
The following is a prerequisite (for yourself or your model) for attendance on our practical courses, where others will be working on you:
Nail courses – nails must be short and natural with no nail varnish.
Eyelash/Eyebrow extension courses – any existing extensions must be removed.
Waxing or threading courses – sufficient body hair must be grown to enable others to work on you.
If you are unable to meet these requirements you must notify us of this at least 7 working days before the course commencement date, as you will be required to bring your own model. If you fail to meet these requirements, a model may be provided at our discretion, and at an additional fee, for which you will be required to pay the full costs. Or you will be removed from the course and any payment made will be non-refundable.
Failure to adhere to these terms and conditions may result in you being expelled from the course. Any fees you have paid to us will be lost and any outstanding fees will continue to be payable.
We reserve the right to make further regulations or changes as and when necessary to ensure the health and safety of our staff and other students or for other reasons as deemed appropriate by us.
